HS Sports Wednesday: Carrollton boys golf still unbeaten after Minerva win

Carrollton advanced to 13-0 and 11-0 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference with a 147-177 match win over Minerva on Wednesday at Carroll Meadows.

All four of the Warriors’ qualifying scorers broke 40 for the nine, with Jaxon Rinkes leading Carrollton at 35 (-1). John Birong (36), Colton Moore (37) and Cayden Rininger (39) also contributed to the victory. 

Case Waller, Connor Good and Logan Good led Minerva with 43 apiece.

GIRLS GOLF

DOVER 185, PERRY 190

The Dover Crimson Tornadoes defeated Perry by five shots at The Elms on Wednesday, led by Ava Adam’s’ 43.

Riley Schie also had 43 for Dover, while Mya Dowing shot 47, and Sara Klar shot a 50. 

Perry’s Sophia Rosa was match medalist at 37.

BOYS SOCCER

TUSCARAWAS VALLEY 4, KENMORE 2

Tusky Valley advanced to 4-0-2 with a match win against Kenmore on Wednesday.

Zander Mosley, Florian Stehr, Colin Kuharich and Alen Nisic all scored a goal each for the Trojans.

GIRLS SOCCER

FAIRLESS 8, TRIWAY 1

Gracie Ashton had a monster night in the Falcons’ 8-1 victory over Triway.

Ashton scored all eight of Fairless’ goals in the contest – a season-high for the junior.

The Falcons moved to 7-1 with the win.

NEW PHILADELPHIA 2, WOOSTER 1

The Lady Quakers defeated Wooster on Wednesday.

Audrey Harr and Lauryn Contini each tallied a goal for New Philadelphia.
