On Monday, the Food and Drug Administration announced they that people between 12 to 15 years of age can now start receiving the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine.

In December, the Pfizer-Biotech vaccine was authorized for Americans 16 and older.

Dr. Janet Woodcock said (on the FDA’s website) that the authorization is a “significant step in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.”

This move will allow millions of additional Americans to get the vaccine – which is expected to be sent directly to pediatricians offices, where parents may feel more confident talking about the shots with their child’s doctor.
