Monday morning President Joe Biden signed an executive order to repeal former President Donald Trump’s ban against transgender people serving in the U.S. military.
“President Biden believes that gender identity should not be a bar to military service, and that America’s strength is found on its diversity,” according to the White House.
The executive order should come as no surprise to Americans, as Biden campaigned heavily on overturning many of Trump’s orders.
The former president issued the ban on transgender military soldiers in 2017.
