A Strasburg woman died Saturday morning after a single-vehicle crash on U.S. Route 22 in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police, the crash occurred around 9:45 a.m. in the eastbound lanes near the Oakdale exit in North Fayette Township.
Troopers said the driver, identified as 66-year-old Jody Ware of Strasburg in Tuscarawas County, lost control of her vehicle and struck a concrete barrier. The vehicle then veered across the roadway, hit an embankment, and overturned onto its roof in the right lane.
Ware was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
The crash shut down all eastbound lanes of the highway for nearly two hours, reopening shortly before 11:35 a.m., according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
The incident remains under investigation.
