A 69-year-old Dover woman died Monday evening after she was struck by a van while walking along North Wooster Avenue, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash happened at 6:07 p.m. at the intersection of North Wooster Avenue and Karle Alley in Dover. Investigators determined that a white 2021 Ram Promaster 1500, driven by an 80-year-old Dover man, was traveling northbound in the right lane when it struck the pedestrian, who was also in the right lane.
The woman suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported by Dover EMS to Union Hospital. She was later flown by MedFlight to Akron Summa, where she died from her injuries, the patrol said.
The driver was not injured and was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
The Dover Police Department and Dover Fire Department assisted at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
Jordan Miller News is withholding the names of those involved and will release them after we feel enough time has passed for family members to notify others.
