A 60-year-old man from Tuscarawas County was killed Tuesday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 77 in Tuscarawas County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 4:59 p.m. on I-77 south near milepost 74 in Jefferson Township.
Troopers said the man was driving a 2006 Buick Lucerne pulling a 2027 Kara trailer when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck an embankment.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene and taken to Union Hospital. Jordan Miller News will publish the victim’s name at a later time.
The Highway Patrol said the driver was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected as factors.
The Tuscarawas County Coroner’s Office, Stone Creek Fire Department, York Township Fire Department, Smith Ambulance and Performance Towing assisted at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol’s New Philadelphia Post.
