Three police officers were shot Wednesday afternoon in what officials are describing as an ambush at an industrial park in Lorain.
The incident occurred around 1:15 p.m. at the Colorado Industrial Park, according to the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office.
Lorain Mayor Jack Bradley confirmed that two of the wounded officers were flown to MetroHealth Medical Center in serious condition. A third officer was taken to Mercy Health with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
A suspect in the shooting has died, and authorities said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
