A 33-year-old woman has died after being struck by a vehicle last week in Stark County, authorities said.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said Brittany Kemp-Merritt of Beach City was hit around 10:50 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, while walking along State Route 21 near Lawndell Road in Bethlehem Township.
According to investigators, a 2021 Jeep Wrangler was traveling south on Route 21 when it struck Kemp-Merritt, who was in the roadway at the time. She suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken by ambulance to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital.
Kemp-Merritt was pronounced dead on Monday, Sept. 29.
The crash remains under investigation. Erie Valley Fire and EMS, along with Pratt’s Towing, assisted at the scene.
