Sandy Valley Local Schools has selected Torrance Carle as its next head football coach, pending approval by the district’s board of education later this month.
The district announced the hire Monday, with formal board action expected at the Feb. 23 meeting.
Carle is a graduate of Minerva High School and brings more than a decade of coaching experience to the Cardinal football program. He attended the University of Mount Union, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in sports business with a minor in English.
Most recently, Carle served as associate head coach, co-offensive coordinator and special teams coordinator at Eastern Alamance High School in Mebane, North Carolina. During his 13-year coaching career, he has worked with multiple all-conference athletes and has emphasized leadership development alongside athletic performance.
District officials cited Carle’s coaching background, leadership philosophy and focus on student development as key factors in the decision. School administrators said his vision for the program centers on accountability, work ethic, academic success and pride within the Sandy Valley football tradition.
Carle will assume leadership of the program following board approval and is expected to begin preparations for the upcoming season shortly thereafter.
