A plane made an emergency landing in a Tuscarawas County cornfield Tuesday after experiencing engine trouble, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred Sept. 29 near the intersection of state Route 21 and state Route 212, southeast of the Beach City Airport.
The New Philadelphia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol told Jordan Miller News the aircraft experienced engine trouble, prompting the pilot to make an emergency landing in an open cornfield.
No injuries were reported.
Jordan Miller News learned the incident occurred Tuesday but was not reported to authorities until late Wednesday night.
Troopers and the Federal Aviation Administration were at the scene Thursday morning investigating the incident.
Additional details about the aircraft and what caused the engine trouble were not immediately available.
