One dead in head-on Carroll County crash

A Carrollton man was killed Tuesday evening in a two-vehicle crash on County Road 54 near Township Road 136 in Union Township, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the crash happened at about 5:47 p.m. when a gray 2016 Ram was traveling southeast on County Road 54. A light blue 2009 Honda Fit heading northwest crossed the centerline and struck the Ram head-on. After impact, the Honda spun into a ditch and the Ram went off the right side of the road and struck a guardrail.

The Honda’s driver, Frankie L. Bouslaugh, 82, of Carrollton, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Carroll County Coroner’s Office. Troopers said he was not wearing a seatbelt.

The Ram was driven by Christian D. Mullins, 21, of Weston, West Virginia. Mullins and a passenger were not injured.

Carrollton Fire assisted on scene. Scio Fire and EMS was called for an ambulance, Rocky’s Towing, Rosenberry’s Towing, Dellroy Fire and Carroll County Road and Bridge Department also assisted.

Alcohol is not suspected as a factor. The crash remains under investigation by the highway patrol.
