A Jackson Township man is facing multiple charges after police say he brandished a firearm and refused to comply with officers during a domestic violence call Monday evening. Jordan Miller News was first to report on the incident.

According to Jackson Township Police Chief Mark Brink, officers responded to a report of domestic violence around 7:54 p.m. Monday in the 8000 block of Parkford Street NW.

When officers arrived, they observed the suspect, later identified as John Joseph Boda, 33, holding a firearm. Police said Boda refused to follow commands and made movements that led officers to believe violence was imminent.

In response, one officer discharged a firearm. No injuries were reported from the gunfire, police said.

Boda was taken to a local hospital for treatment before being booked into the Stark County Jail.

He faces multiple charges, including:

Domestic Violence (Misdemeanor 1) Endangering Children (Misdemeanor 1) Aggravated Menacing (Felony 5) Weapons while Intoxicated (Misdemeanor 1)

The Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Jackson Township Fire Department assisted at the scene. Police said the incident remains under investigation and no further information will be released at this time.
