North Canton City Schools remain under a soft lockdown Wednesday afternoon as police investigate a phone call made to Hoover High School, according to a message sent to families from the district.
The alert, issued around 12:48 p.m., said the lockdown was implemented “out of an abundance of caution” while the North Canton Police Department continues its investigation. Police are on campus right now.
During a soft lockdown, no one is permitted to enter or exit school buildings until authorities give the all-clear.
District officials said they will provide an update as soon as more information becomes available and thanked families for their patience and cooperation as the safety of students and staff remains their top priority.
