A Minerva man has been indicted on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges following a police pursuit and an alleged attempt to conceal evidence, according to the Carroll County Prosecutor’s Office.
A Carroll County grand jury indicted Tyler M. Mason, 28, of 9163 W. Southview St., Minerva, on one count of failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony; one count of tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony; one count of driving under suspension, a first-degree misdemeanor; and one count of operating a motor vehicle bearing an invalid license plate or identification mark, a fourth-degree misdemeanor.
Prosecutors allege that on Nov. 29, 2025, Mason fled at a high rate of speed from Minerva police officers who were attempting to stop his vehicle. Authorities say Mason knew he did not have a valid driver’s license and that the license plate on the vehicle did not match the vehicle.
According to the prosecutor’s office, officers terminated the pursuit once Mason left the village limits.
Several hours later, Minerva police were investigating a noise complaint within the village when they discovered Mason in a garage painting the vehicle, allegedly in an attempt to conceal it from the earlier pursuit, prosecutors said.
Officers also identified Mason as the driver involved in the earlier incident and took him into custody.
The case will proceed in Carroll County Common Pleas Court. No further details were released.
