Matchups set for second week of Ohio HS football playoffs

The matchups are set for the second week of the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) football playoffs, with several Stark County programs and surrounding area teams preparing for pivotal regional quarterfinal contests. The top four seeds in each region earned a first-round bye and will make their postseason debuts this weekend.

In Division I, Region 1, No. 3 Canton McKinley will host No. 11 Medina at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium. The Bulldogs will look to continue their strong late-season momentum after finishing near the top of the region standings. Meanwhile, No. 7 Jackson hits the road for a challenging matchup against second-seeded Mentor.

In Division II, Region 7, a Stark County showdown highlights the bracket as No. 3 Massillon welcomes No. 6 Hoover. The Tigers enter the game fresh off their bye week, while the Vikings advanced after a first-round win. Also in Division II, Region 5, the No. 4 Lake Blue Streaks open postseason action by hosting Hudson.

In Division IV, Region 15, No. 2 Indian Valley will play host to No. 7 Circleville after earning one of the region’s top seeds.

In Division VI, Region 21, area teams will collide in a deep field. No. 4 United will host Smithville, while No. 7 Garaway travels north to face No. 2 Crestview.

In Division VII, multiple local schools remain alive.

Region 25: No. 7 East Canton will visit No. 2 Harding, and No. 5 Malvern travels to No. 4 Monroeville. Region 27: No. 8 Conotton Valley hits the road to meet top-seeded Hillsdale, while No. 7 Strasburg heads south to face No. 2 Waterford.

Kickoff times for all games are scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m.
