A person trapped on the second floor of their home after a large tree fell onto the house Friday evening was safely rescued thanks to a coordinated response by multiple fire departments.
According to the Louisville Fire Department, firefighters were called to the scene after receiving reports of someone trapped on the upper floor of the damaged home. Louisville crews responded with a chief, tower truck, and utility truck. Mutual aid was requested from Nimishillen Township and Osnaburg Township fire departments to assist with the rescue.
Firefighters worked together to safely extricate the resident from the second floor. No injuries were reported.
Photos shared by the department show a massive tree that had fallen across the home’s roof and front porch, with emergency crews using ladders and an aerial truck to reach the upper floor.
“Everyone worked together as a team to extricate the resident, and no injuries were reported,” the department said in a statement. “Thank you to all that responded.”
