Louisville Elementary School is closed Wednesday after an issue with the system that cools the building, according to Louisville City Schools.

District officials said the building’s chiller is currently down and repair crews are working to fix the problem. However, officials said they could not determine how long repairs would take.

With extremely high temperatures expected Wednesday, the district decided to close the elementary school for the safety of students.

All other Louisville City Schools buildings remain open and are operating on their normal schedules.

The district announced the closure Wednesday morning.
