A homeless man was shot and killed inside his tent behind a Canton business, authorities said.
Police responded Sept. 10 to the 1300 block of Wernet Court SW, behind Renner’s Plumbing Supply, where they found John Michael Lee with gunshot wounds. Firefighters also were called after a propane tank ignited the tent, but the blaze was quickly put out.
Lee was taken to Aultman Hospital, where he later died.
Officers arrested Justen Ove, 44, in connection with the shooting. He has been charged with murder and remains in the Stark County Jail.
Investigators have not disclosed a possible motive.
