Canton man arrested after fentanyl, cocaine, guns seized in drug trafficking investigation

A Canton man was arrested Friday after law enforcement officers seized large amounts of fentanyl and cocaine, along with multiple firearms and cash, during the execution of two search warrants following a months-long drug trafficking investigation.

According to the Canton Police Department, officers served search warrants at about 10:30 a.m. at 2401 9th St. NW in Canton and 3544 Middlebranch Ave. NE in Plain Township. The warrants stemmed from a six-month investigation into drug trafficking activity.

Members of the Canton Police Special Investigations Unit were assisted by the Stark County Metro Narcotics Unit, Ohio State Highway Patrol, FBI Safe Streets Task Force, Adult Parole Authority and the Canton Regional SWAT Team.

Police said Allen B. Cobbs, 46, of Canton, was arrested at the scene. He is currently charged with having weapons while under disability, a third-degree felony. Additional charges are pending as the investigation continues.

During the search, authorities recovered approximately 396.2 grams of fentanyl, 57.2 grams of cocaine, five firearms and $12,670 in U.S. currency, police said.

The search warrants were signed by Canton Municipal Court Judge Kristen Guardado and Stark County Common Pleas Judge Chryssa Hartnett.
