Several wrestlers from eastern Ohio schools remain in the championship bracket and will compete in the state semifinals Saturday evening at the 2026 Ohio High School Athletic Association State Wrestling Tournament at the Schottenstein Center.
The tournament, which runs March 13–15, brings together the state’s top wrestlers across three boys divisions and one girls division to compete for state titles.
Division I
Perry will be well represented in the Division I semifinal round with six wrestlers still alive in the championship bracket.
Junior Lincoln Rohr advanced to the 126-pound semifinals after recording two pins during the opening rounds.
Senior Liston Seibert moved on at 132 pounds with a dominant start to the tournament, opening with a 19-second pin before adding a 14–0 major decision in the quarterfinals.
Junior Seth Cavazos also reached the semifinals at 138 pounds.
At 144 pounds, senior Mason Rohr advanced to the semifinals after entering the state tournament with just two losses on the season.
Senior Brennan Warwick will wrestle in the semifinals at 175 pounds, while junior Caige Horak advanced to the final four at 190 pounds.
Division II
Several Division II wrestlers from the region also remain in contention for state titles.
Claymont sophomore Kamden Stout advanced to the semifinals at 165 pounds.
Steubenville senior Cooper Smith reached the semifinals at 144 pounds.
Beaver Local has two wrestlers still in the championship bracket with freshman Jordan Bates (106 pounds) and sophomore Jake Hughes (157 pounds).
Canton South senior Dominic Prosperi advanced to the semifinals at 113 pounds, while teammate Deangelo Spear will wrestle in the semifinal round at heavyweight (285 pounds).
West Branch senior Beau Nezbeth also secured a spot in the semifinals at 150 pounds.
Girls Division
Several local wrestlers have also advanced to the girls state semifinals.
United senior Auston Brown remains in the championship bracket at 135 pounds.
Carrollton junior Riley Alborn will compete in the semifinals at 190 pounds.
Perry has three wrestlers still alive in the girls bracket, including junior Mia Forberg at 105 pounds, defending state champion Carolyn Geckler at 130 pounds, and junior Emma Shephard at 140 pounds.
Championship semifinal matches are scheduled for Saturday evening, with winners advancing to the state finals on Sunday.
