Pedestrian from Alliance critically injured after being struck by vehicle in Canton

A pedestrian was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle Thursday night on Canton’s northwest side, police said.

Canton police officers were called around 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, to the 900 block of 25th Street NW for a reported traffic crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

According to police, a 2022 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling west on 25th Street NW when it struck Douglas Pryor, 40, of Alliance, who was crossing the street.

Canton Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and transported Pryor to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital, where he was admitted to the intensive care unit. His condition was not immediately released.

The crash remains under investigation by the Canton Metro Crash Team.
