Canton police have arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred Monday morning on Tuscarawas Street West.
According to Canton Police Chief John Gabbard, officers responded to a 911 call around 10:30 a.m. Nov. 3 at 3907 Tuscarawas St. W., Apt. 8, where they found Daryle L. Bryant, 21, of Canton, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Canton Fire Department medics transported Bryant to Aultman Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police identified Deiveon Newman, 19, of Massillon, as the suspect. Investigators say he fled the scene before officers arrived but later surrendered to authorities Tuesday morning.
Newman has been charged with murder, felonious assault, and tampering with evidence.
The investigation remains ongoing.
