A Carrollton woman has been indicted on multiple felony charges after she was allegedly caught engaging in sexual conduct with a 98-year-old patient at an area assisted living facility.

Amy R. Whaley, 58, of 448 N. Lisbon Street, was indicted on one count of rape, a first-degree felony; one count of attempted rape, a second-degree felony; one count of sexual battery, a third-degree felony; and one count of gross sexual imposition, a fourth-degree felony.

Prosecutors allege the incident occurred on Aug. 26, 2025, at Centreville Village, where Whaley was employed as a caretaker. According to the indictment, staff members discovered Whaley engaging in sexual conduct with the elderly patient.

Carroll County Prosecutor Steven Barnett said the indictment accuses Whaley of engaging in sexual conduct and attempting to engage in sexual conduct with the victim, as well as committing additional sexual acts during the incident.

While Whaley worked at the facility as a caretaker, Barnett said she was not considered a “medical professional” under Ohio law.
