A Newcomerstown man was killed and another seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash early Monday morning in Guernsey County, according to the Cambridge Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 2:58 a.m. at the intersection of Natural Resources roads 1 and 4 in Jefferson Township.
Troopers said Jonathon Kuzmarski was driving northbound on Natural Resources Road 1 when he failed to negotiate a curve. His vehicle went off the left side of the roadway, struck a stop sign and an embankment. Kuzmarski was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger in the vehicle, identified as Shawn Dillon of Newcomerstown, was transported by MedFlight to Akron City Hospital. His condition was not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Old Washington and Liberty fire departments, along with OhioHealth EMS.
