A pregnant woman and her unborn child were killed Saturday after being struck by a car during a domestic dispute near the Broadway Wharf in East Liverpool, authorities said.
According to East Liverpool Police Chief John Lane, 21-year-old Stephanie Householder was involved in an argument with another individual after they arrived together at the location. During the dispute, Householder exited the vehicle. As the other person attempted to drive away, the vehicle was put in reverse and struck her.
Householder was flown by medical helicopter to a Pittsburgh-area hospital, where both she and her unborn child were later pronounced dead.
Police are working with the Columbiana County Prosecutor’s Office to determine appropriate charges against the driver, Lane said.
The investigation remains ongoing.
