Dog found dead following Alliance house fire

A dog died and another was rescued after a fire broke out at a two-story home in Alliance on Friday morning, according to the Alliance Fire Department.

Firefighters were called to the home at 806 Grace St. at 7:37 a.m. Crews arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the eaves of the home and heavy fire toward the rear of the structure.

No one was inside the home when the fire began, and all residents were accounted for, according to the fire department.

Two dogs were inside the home. One was found dead, while firefighters rescued the second dog. The surviving dog was taken to a local veterinarian for treatment. Its condition was not immediately available.

The cause of the fire remains undetermined. The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.

Alliance firefighters were assisted at the scene by departments from Sebring and Washington Township.
