The new owners of a foreclosed Massillon home discovered a 76-year-old man dead inside the property when they entered the house last week, according to police.

Massillon police were called Aug. 20 to a home in the 800 block of Milburn Road NE after the new owners found the man in a bed inside the residence.

The man was identified as Steve Bartuseck, who previously owned the home.

Police said Bartuseck appears to have died of natural causes. His death is not considered suspicious, and there is no active police investigation.

The Stark County Coroner’s Office said it was unclear when Bartuseck died.

Police had conducted a welfare check at the home several months before his body was discovered. Officers did not receive an answer at the door at the time, and nothing appeared to be out of place from outside the residence.

It remains unclear how long Bartuseck had been dead before he was discovered Aug. 20.
