Canton police are asking for the public’s help in locating an endangered missing 80-year-old man who has not been seen since Saturday afternoon.
According to the Canton Police Department, Sam Gilmore, of Canton, was last seen at approximately 12:45 p.m. Saturday, July 25.
Police said Gilmore may be in the early stages of dementia and has poor hearing. He does not drive and is known to walk to the places he visits.
Gilmore most recently lived in the 2500 block of Roberts Avenue NW in Canton. Investigators said he told someone he was walking to Woodlawn Market, located at 1910 Woodlawn Ave. NW in Jackson Township.
When he was last seen, Gilmore was wearing:
- A black suit coat
- A white buttoned shirt with blue stripes
- Black pants
- Brown boots
- A camouflage hat
Police describe Gilmore as a Black man standing 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing approximately 155 pounds. He has gray and brown hair and was born Jan. 20, 1946.
