A 47-year-old man died early Friday morning after a motorcycle crash on Cleveland Avenue Northwest, according to the Canton Police Department.
Police said officers were dispatched at approximately 1:08 a.m. Friday to the 900 block of Cleveland Avenue NW for a reported traffic accident.
According to investigators, the rider was operating a 1998 Harley-Davidson motorcycle northbound on Cleveland Avenue when he lost control while navigating a curve. The motorcycle traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a guardrail, ejecting the rider.
The Canton Metro Crash Team responded to the scene and is investigating the crash.
Medics from the Canton Fire Department also responded and pronounced the rider dead at the scene.
Authorities said it remains unclear whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
The victim’s identity has not been released pending notification of family members.
