Authorities reported that a shooting occurred at Allen Premium Outlets, a Dallas-area outlet mall, on Saturday, resulting in an unspecified number of fatalities and at least nine people being taken to the hospital.
Officials did not provide information on the injured’s conditions.
The suspected shooter was “neutralized” by a city police officer responding to another call. The U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives described the situation as an “active shooter incident,” and said it was responding to the mall.
The shopping center occupies 69 acres and houses more than 120 retailers. The matter is currently under investigation.
