A 37-year-old man from Jackson Township will spend the next 30 years in federal prison for kidnapping his 5-year-old neighbor in Nov. of 2021.

Jonathan Stinnett launched a manhunt that spanned multiple states when he kidnapped the 5-year-old girl.

Stinnett and his fiance were babysitting the young girl, which was typical. The three were shopping at Goodwill on Wales Avenue NW, right across from the Jackson Township Police Department.

The girl needed to used the restroom, but the Goodwill store did not have one. Stinnett took the girl next door to McDonald’s while his fiance stayed at Goodwill. Stinnett and the girl never returned.

The girl’s mom then reported her missing, eventually triggering an Amber Alert.

Stinnett and the girl were found in Illinois two days after the abduction after a concerned citizen reported a suspicious vehicle. Thankfully, the girl was not harmed.
