A truck struck a train and caused it to have 19 of its cars derail off of the tracks at a crossing in the 3700 block of Manchester Ave. in North Lawrence Monday morning. No injuries were reported.
The North Lawrence Fire Department and Police Department were dispatched for a report for a truck vs. train crash at 7:45 A.M.
The driver of the truck was self extricated and was taken into an ambulance. He was later released by EMS.
Stark County HAZMAT was called onto the scene as the accident occurred near an active waterway.
The North Lawrence Fire Department urged the public to not come to the area as State Route 93 will be closed for a couple of days for cleanup.
