Carrollton’s boys’ golf team earned its fourth consecutive tournament win to open the season in a 299 scoring finish at the Circle K Invitational at Zanesville’s EagleSticks Golf Club.
Jaxon Rinkes was the tournament medalist with a 72, while Colton Moore added a 75. John Birong and Cayden Rininger each shot a 76.
John Glenn finished in second place at 306 for second place, while Wheeling Park finished third (307).
SANDY VALLEY 165, BUCKEYE TRAIL 181
Sandy Valley improved to 2-0 with a Thursday victory over Buckeye Trail at Cambridge Country Club.
Connor Ritter fired a 35 for the Cardinals, while John Wood followed with a 42. Dantae Faiello (43) and Thorn Stenger (45) posted qualifying scores for Sandy Valley.
Washington Miller led the Warriors (0-1, 0-1) with a 42.
STRASBURG 173, RIDGEWOOD 217
Strasburg’s boys team took care of visiting Ridgewood on Thursday to improve to 3-0.
Trenton Bitikofer led the Tigers with a 39 and was followed by qualifying scores from Jason Grywalsky (43), Blayne Cooper (45), and Parker Edwards (46).
INDIAN VALLEY 168, CLAYMONT 169
Indian Valley survived a 1-stroke win over Claymont in Thursday’s IVC showdown.
Deagan Beaber, Brody Mead, Aden Trushell, and Garrett Miller each shot square 42s, while Koi Preston led Claymont with a 38.
