New Philadelphia won its East Central Ohio League softball finale at Warren Local in a 4-0 decision.

Julia Miller struck out 14 Warren batters in the victory, while Ellie Mason led the Quaker offense with a single and a double.

New Phila finished ECOL play at 6-0.

DOVER 19, WEST HOLMES 2 (5 INN.)

A pair of 6-run innings led Dover to a Monday blowout win over West Holmes.

The Tornadoes totaled 16 hits for the game.

Kenzie Woods led the Knights with a pair of hits.

GARAWAY 13, CLAYMONT 2

The Lady Pirates earned their 10th consecutive victory with Monday night’s final from Claymont.

Garaway trailed 2-0 for most of the game before scoring seven runs in the 6th inning, and six runs in the 7th.

Isabelle Tetreault pitched a complete game, allowing two runs and eight hits with six strikeouts.

Meghan Petitte and Jordyn Keim each roped a home run for the Bucs, while Lily Specht slapped four singles and drove in a run.

STRASBURG 10, CONOTTON VALLEY 0 (5 INN.)

Strasburg improved to 15-3 with a mercy-rule win over Conotton Valley.

Emma Gilkerson hit a home run and a double to result in four RBIs and three runs scored.

JaeLynn Marks and Hayley Reiger each totaled three hits for the Tigers.

Amelia Spidell allowed two hits while striking out eight in a complete-game performance for the victors.

TUSCARAWAS VALLEY 9, RIDGEWOOD 2

Tusky Valley won at Ridgewood on Monday.

Kyle Rohr went 4-for-4 at the plate while striking out 10 on the mound for the Trojans.

Elly Rothenstein contributed three hits, including a home run and a double.

TUSCARAWAS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 20, EAST CANTON 4 (5 INN.)

A pair of 6-run innings boosted Tuscarawas Central Catholic to a Monday night win over East Canton.

Maddie Ferrell went 5-for-5 with three singles, a double, and a triple, while Emily Garbrandt totaled four hits (three singles, home run).

MALVERN 9, SANDY VALLEY 1

SANDY VALLEY 8, MALVERN 1

Malvern and Sandy Valley split a pair of 5-inning games on Monday in Malvern.

The Hornets took the first game courtesy of a complete game performance by starting pitcher Kenna Ball, who allowed nine hits and a run while recording three strikeouts.

Audrey Sikorsky roped a 3-run home run to lead Malvern’s offense in the opening contest.

In Game 2, McKenna Burk pitched a complete game, allowing five hits and six runs (five earned).

Peyton Nicholson (2-3, single, double, run), Amber Ward (2-3, two singles, two runs), River Eick (2-3, two singles, two RBIs), and Carsyn Dine (2-2, two singles, three RBIs, run, walk) led the Cardinals offense.

LOUISVILLE 17, AKRON ST. VINCENT-ST. MARY 3 (5 INN.)

Louisville mercy-ruled St. Vincent-St. Mary on Monday night.

Matti Benson drilled a home run and a double to lead the Leopards’ offense, while Jenna Collins also cleared the fence.

Kendra Thomas (4.0 innings, five hits, three runs, three K’s) and Katie Heath (1.0 inning, one hit, two strikeouts) combined for the pitching win.

The Lady Leopards are now 8-11 on the season.

BASEBALL

WARREN LOCAL 6, NEW PHILADELPHIA 4

Warren Local edged New Philadelphia in a Monday baseball contest.

TUSCARAWAS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 3, EAST CANTON 1

Jacob Renicker allowed four hits in a complete-game shutout for Tuscarawas Central Catholic in their road win over East Canton.

Gavin Douglass drove in a run via a single, while Kyler Fotheringham and Marcus Steve also totaled RBIs.

INDIAN VALLEY 7, HILAND 5

Indian Valley remained unbeaten in Inter-Valley Conference play with a Monday night win over Hiland.

I.V. scored all of its runs in the 2nd inning.

Braves starter Kale Kochman pitched a complete game, allowing nine hits and five runs, along with five strikeouts.

The Braves improved to 9-0 in conference play and 16-3 overall.

STRASBURG 7, CONOTTON VALLEY 5

Strasburg staved off Conotton Valley for a Monday IVC win.

Derek Rissler led the Tigers with three hits, while Mason Wagner (4.2 innings) and Alex Burkett (2.1 innings) combined for the Strasburg win.

TUSCARAWAS VALLEY 8, RIDGEWOOD 6

Tusky Valley managed 13 hits in their Monday night win over Ridgewood.

Brayden Mauer broke a 6-all tie in the bottom of the 5th with a go-ahead RBI single.

Austin Kohler allowed six runs and five hits in his 5-inning start for the Trojans, and strick out six.

The Trojans moved to 8-6 (5-2 IVC), while Ridgewood dropped to 8-7.

FAIRLESS 13, CHIPPEWA 3 (5 INN.)

Fairless head coach Josh Witting earned his 100th career victory in the Falcons’ 10-run Senior Night win over the Chipps.

Falcons starter Ethan Lautzenheiser earned a complete-game win, striking out seven batters over five innings.

Lautzenheiser also contributed two hits and an RBI to the Fairless offense, while Austin Keck (two hits, RBI), Cameron Perez (3 RBIs), Trevor Horrisberger (RBI triple) contributed to the Falcons’ win.

GARAWAY 22, CLAYMONT 3 (5 INN.)

Gabe Amicone hit a grand slam and totaled seven RBIs in a 5-inning Pirates victory over Claymont.

The Pirates scored 12 runs in the 3rd inning.

CARROLLTON 11, ALLIANCE 1 (5 INN.)

Carrollton broke through for an 8-run 3rd inning in their Monday win over Alliance.

Warriors starter Hayden Jenkins allowed two hits and a run while striking out six.

Jaxon Rinkes recorded two hits and scored three runs for Carrolllton, while contributing a pair of RBIs.

Isaac Moore also added three hits and two RBIs for the Warriors.

LOUISVILLE 4, BOARDMAN 3

Louisville improved to 11-7 with a Monday win over Boardman.

Karson Siegfried went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, while Charlie Roberts drove in a pair of runs.

TRACK AND FIELD

TUSCARAWAS COUNTY CLASSIC

Various Tuscarawas County schools competed on Monday at New Philadelphia’s Woody Hayes Quaker Stadium.

Dover senior Joey Farthing set meet records in two separate boys events: Long jump (22’7″) and high jump (6’8″). Farthing also won the boys 100-meter dash (10.98).

Other boys’ events winners included: New Philadelphia’s Chance Rennicker (200, 22.63), Trevor Bean (400, 49.91), Kayden Schoelles (800, 2:01.41), and Owen Brady (3200, 9:39.22); Tuscarawas Central Catholic’s Jackson Triplett (1600, 4:16.10); Dover’s Jordan Heaston (39″ hurdles, 15.33) and Ryan McVicker (shot put, 51-11); Garaway’s Ty Winters (36″ hurdles, 41.09); Indian Valley’s David Adams (pole vault, 16-04.5); and Claymont’s Kurt Haney (discus, 146-01).

New Philadelphia’s relay team of Rennicker, Stashawn Deetz, Willy Wallace, and Evan McInturf won the 4×100 (44.72), while Bean, Deetz, McInturf, and Rennicker won the 4×200 (1:32.35). The Quakers also won the 4×800 (3:31.99), while Garaway’s Bobby Palmer, Parker Graf, Brendan Chapman, and Quinten Schwartz won the 4×800 (8:47.75).

On the girls’ side, Dover earned individual wins by Emilyn Feller (100, 13.32), Ava Zobel (200, 26.85; 400, 1:01.34), Alyssa Feller (100 33″ hurdles, 16.04; 300 30″ hurdles, 48.14), and Reis Johnson (pole vault, 10-06).

Other individual event winners included: Tuscarawas Valley’s Hannah Wyler (800, 2:16.09); New Philadelphia’s Cambri Mushrush (1600, 5:33.62; 3200, 12:10.56) and Kaitlyn McConnell (high jump, 5-00); Strasburg’s Riley Thomas (long jump, 15-11); Garaway’s Makayla Sitzlar (shot put, 35-09.50); and Claymont’s Arianna Terakedia (discus, 113-03).

Dover won the girls 4×100 (52.71) and 4×200 (1:49.72) relays, while Tusky Valley won the 4×400 relay (4:11.97). Indian Valley took the 4×800 race (10:35.84).

BOYS TENNIS

LOUISVILLE 3, BARBERTON 2

Louisville edged Barberton in a Monday match.

Austin Beck (5-6, 7-5, 6-2 over Coby Kamp) and Riley Nieschwitz (6-3, 7-5 over Thomas Paulson) each won singles matches to lead the Leopards, while the doubles pair of Garett Chilson and Isaiah Gray won in straight sets (7-6 (9-7), 6-2) over Paul Campbell and Markel Gomez).

The Leopards improve to 6-5.

ORRVILLE 4, CLAYMONT 1

Orrville’s boys’ tennis squad took four of five matches over Claymont on Monday.

Maddux Maple managed a singles match victory for the Mustangs.
