UHRICHSVILLE, Ohio (JMN Sports) – Former state-qualifying wrestler Kyle Warner was hired as the Mustangs’ new wrestling coach at Tuesday’s Claymont Board of Education meeting.

Warner, a four-time fifth-place finishing wrestler and 2012 graduate of Claymont High School, will succeed outgoing head coach (and fellow former Mustangs wrestler) Travis Poland, who resigned last month.

The new Mustangs coach ranks third on his alma mater’s all-time wins list with 148 (148-22), just behind younger brother Tyler Warner (1st, 166-12).

The elder Warner worked as an assistant coach on Claymont’s wrestling staff from 2012 to 2018 before spending the last few seasons working with local young programs.
