HS Boys Basketball Tuesday: Malvern tops TCC to stay unbeaten; Garaway hands Tusky Valley first loss

In a Tuesday battle of undefeated schools, the Malvern Hornets escaped with their record unblemished in a 60-50 victory over the Tuscarawas Central Catholic Saints.

Noah Ball scored 18 points for Malvern while Michael Minor added 12 points and 11 rebounds, and Dylan Phillips totaled 10 points.

Zander Sabin led the Saints with 30 points with five 3-pointers, while Jordan Cherry added 12 points for T.C.C.

The Hornets improved to 4-0, 2-0, while the Saints dropped to 3-1, 2-1.

GARAWAY 47, TUSCARAWAS VALLEY 43

Another Tuscarawas-named school – Valley – also lost a game for the first time this season.

The Trojans’ opponent, the Garaway Pirates, posted a four-point win on Tuesday night in Zoarville.

The Pirates got leading performances from Logan Yoder, who scored 16 points, and Jarett Wallick adding eight points.

Garaway improves to 2-2, 2-1, while the loss drops Tusky Valley to 5-1, 1-1.

Connar Newsome led Tusky Valley with 18 points.

RIDGEWOOD 45, CLAYMONT 33

The Generals picked up an IVC South win over Claymont on Tuesday.

Braden Maleski scored 15 points for the Generals, and Kigenn Millender totaled 11.

Cade Watkins led Claymont (1-5, 0-3) with 13 points.

STRASBURG 57, CONOTTON VALLEY 27

The Tigers improved to 5-1 (3-0 in IVC North) after a convincing double-digit win.

Andrew Harvey tallied 24 points, Landon Potopsky added 14 and Matt Stevens chipped in 10.

The Rockets fell to 2-4, 1-3.
