More than 16,000 AEP Ohio customers are without power following a surge of high winds in the area.
Local areas impacted by power outages are Stark, Carroll and Tuscarawas Counties.
At this time, crews are out in the area accessing the conditions.
According to the AEP Ohio Outage Map, nearly 400 AEP customers in Stark County, mainly in the Mapleton area, are without power. Just over 300 people are without power in Tuscarawas County and few than five are without in Carroll County.
