Stark County Sheriff deputy Hiller was responding to an emergency call at 1:38 Friday morning when she lost control of her vehicle on the slush/ice covered road in Osnaburg Township along State Route 44.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said Deputy Hiller was traveling south on SR 44 when she lost control over her cruiser while negotiating a curve near the intersection of Valleybrook Street. She traveled off the right side of the road into a ditch before flipping onto the vehicle’s top.

Deputy Hiller was trapped upside down inside the patrol car for approximately thirty minutes, according to OSHP.

Louisville Fire Department and Osnaburg Township Emergency Medical Services extracted Deputy Hiller from the vehicle. She sustained serious injuries and was transported to Aultman Hospital by Osnaburg Township Emergency Squad.

The road was closed for over an hour while crews cleared the accident scene and the roadway for safe travels.
