The Tuscarawas Valley Trojans volleyball team beat Conotton Valley 25-11, 25-10, and 25-10 on Thursday night at Zoarville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taylor West and Ashley Merrick had 11 kills apiece, while Julia Felgenhauer recorded 24 digs for the Trojans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tusky Valley improved its record to 2-0 with the win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TUSCARAWAS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 25-25-25, SANDY VALLEY 17-23-20<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tuscarawas Central Catholic took down the Sandy Valley Cardinals in straight sets at Magnolia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reese Triplett (13 kills, 13 points, 3 digs), Maddie Ferrell (9 assists, 7 kills), Gina Sciarretti (5 kills), Rylee Dillon (13 digs), and Jordyn Caldwell (9 assists, 3 kills) led the Saints to their first win of the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lexi Tucci (2 aces, 6 kills, 9 digs) and Zoe Ward (20 assists) paced the Cards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GARAWAY 16-25-25-25, STRASBURG 25-22-17-22<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Garaway overcame a first-set loss to best the Strasburg Tigers on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shelby Gerber led the Pirates with 36 assists, along with good performances from Morgan Schlabach (7 aces, 15 kills, 11 digs) and McKenzie Miller (6 blocks, 11 kills, 16 digs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HILAND 25-31-25, WAYNEDALE 15-29-14<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hawks moved to 3-0 on the year after besting the Waynedale Golden Bears in three sets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gracie Keim (38 assists), Ava Troyer (18 kills, 2 blocks), and Annika Schneider (10 kills) led the Hawks to the victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

INDIAN VALLEY 25-25-25, MALVERN 16-14-16<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Indian Valley Braves also picked up an Inter-Valley Conference win against the Malvern Hornets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tori Stocker led the Braves with 9 kills, 8 points with an ace, and two assists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CLAYMONT 25-25-25, EAST CANTON 7-9-4<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Little friction came between Claymont and an IVC road win at East Canton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hannah Wallace (20 points, 9 aces), Kailey Watkins (12 points, 4 aces), and Averi Wallace (10 points, 5 aces) contributed to the Claymont match win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RIDGEWOOD 25-25-25, NEWCOMERSTOWN 7-9-12<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ridgewood also had few problems in a straight-sets win against the Trojans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Generals’ top performances came from Karissa Gress (7 kills, 6 digs, 12 points, and 11 aces), Hannah Maust (11 kills, 6 digs, 5 points), and Ella Matusik (28 assists, 6 kills).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BOYS GOLF<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CARROLLTON 158, WEST BRANCH 160<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Carrollton boys golfers improved to 6-0 with a two-stroke victory over West Branch at Flying B Golf Course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jaxon Rinkes led the winners with a 38, along with scores from Colton Moore (39), Cayden Rininger (40), and Isaac Warner (41).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reed Williams shot a team-best 39 for West Branch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HILAND 148, MALVERN 185<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each of Hiland’s four top scorers broke 4 on Thursday as the Hawks topped the Malvern Hornets at Fire Ridge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Garret Shoup fired a Hiland-best 34, along with Carter Mishler (37) Brookston Hummel (38), and Nathan Kline (39).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Connor Lefevre led the Hornets with a 41.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

STRASBURG 191, TUSCARAWAS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 198<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Strasburg Tigers recorded a seven-shot win over Tuscarawas Central Catholic at Oak Shadows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trenton Bitikofer led the Tigers at 43, while Jason Grywalski, Nick Martin (both 49), and Parker Edwards posted a (50) contributed to the Tigers’ (1-1) first win of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Saints (2-2) were led by Zane Douglass’ 47 and Piper Olson’s 48.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

INDIAN VALEY 164, CONOTTON VALLEY 191<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indian Valley’s boys’ team took down Conotton on Thursday at River Greens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Austen Gunn fired a 38 and Aden Trushell had a 39 for I.V.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For C.V., Justin Lambert led the way at 40, while Gaige Galigher added a 45.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GIRLS GOLF<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

FAIRLESS 225, NORTHWEST 226<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lady Falcons edged Northwest by a single shot in Thursday’s match at The Elms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bri Schumacher led Fairless at 53 for the 9-hole match, while Kylee Moore (55), Hallie Brothers (58), and Ayza Raja (59) also scored for the winners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Marietta Tigers beat the Crimson Tornadoes in Thursday’s match in Dover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reese Utter managed the lone goal for the Tornadoes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RIVER VIEW 8, PHILO 0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The River View Black Bears scored eight goals on Philo in a Thursday shutout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

River View improves to 3-0 on the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HILAND 4, CHIPPEWA 0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lady Hawks soccer team shut out the Chipps on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paige Gertz had three goals and an assist for Hiland, while Emily Gingerich also scored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
