A Millersburg woman has been indicted on multiple charges, including aggravated murder, in connection with the death of her 4-year-old son, Tuscarawas County Prosecutor Ryan Styer announced Thursday.

Ruth R. Miller, 40, faces a seven-count indictment returned by a Tuscarawas County grand jury. Charges include one count of aggravated murder, one count of murder and one count of felonious assault, all related to her 4-year-old son.

The indictment also includes one count of child endangering involving her 15-year-old daughter, along with three counts of domestic violence involving the daughter and Miller’s two 18-year-old sons, Styer said.

Miller remains in the Tuscarawas County Jail and is scheduled for arraignment before Common Pleas Judge Michael J. Ernest at 3:30 p.m. Monday. In light of the indictment, prosecutors have moved to dismiss the earlier complaint filed in New Philadelphia Municipal Court.

Aggravated murder, an unclassified felony, carries a penalty of life in prison with the possibility of parole after 20 years or a maximum sentence of life without parole. A conviction for murder, also an unclassified felony, carries a sentence of life with parole eligibility after 15 years. The remaining charges are first-degree misdemeanors, each punishable by up to 180 days in jail.
