Victim identified in fatal Lexington Township (Stark County) crash

Authorities have identified the woman killed in a crash involving a passenger vehicle and a semi-truck Monday afternoon in Lexington Township.

The Stark County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Wendy Grove, 47, of the Baden, Pennsylvania, area.

According to the Stark County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched at approximately 12:32 p.m. Monday to the 13100 block of state Route 225 for a report of a serious crash involving a passenger vehicle and a semi-truck.

Emergency crews provided medical treatment at the scene to both occupants of the passenger vehicle. Grove, who was driving the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

A passenger in the vehicle sustained serious injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital for treatment. The driver of the semi-truck suffered minor injuries and was taken to Aultman Alliance Community Hospital.

The Lexington Township Fire Department, Alliance Fire Department and EMT Ambulance responded to the crash.

The Stark County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Canton Metro Crash Team, the Stark County Coroner’s Office, the Ohio Department of Transportation and the Lexington Township Road Department.

Authorities have not released the cause of the crash. The investigation remains ongoing by the Stark County Sheriff’s Office and the Canton Metro Crash Team.
