Two people were identified as suspects after gunfire was fired into a Canton home late May 3, where five juveniles were inside, according to a Canton Police Department investigative report.
Police responded around 11:35 p.m. to the 1200 block of Woodview Street SW after multiple callers reported hearing eight to 10 gunshots and at least one resident said their home had been struck.
Investigators said approximately nine people were inside the home at the time, including five juveniles. No injuries were reported.
According to the report, police believe the shooting stemmed from an earlier dispute involving Samantha Hambly, who allegedly threatened to return after an argument.
Video obtained by investigators reportedly showed a vehicle matching Hambly’s arriving near the home with its lights off. Police said a man exited the passenger side, appeared to use a light attached to a firearm, then ran back to the vehicle before it sped away.
Officers later located Hambly and her boyfriend, Jamaryon Frazier, at a Canton apartment complex. Shell casings were recovered at the scene, and gunshot residue kits were collected from both suspects.
Frazier was booked into the Stark County Jail on unrelated active warrants, according to the report. As of the completion of the report, no charges had been filed against either suspect in connection with the shooting.
