Suspect wanted in Medina road rage shooting arrested in Jackson Township

A 26-year-old man wanted in connection with a road rage shooting in Medina County was arrested Tuesday evening in Jackson Township, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.

The shooting happened Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 71 northbound, about three miles north of the state Route 83 exit in Medina County. The Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to the incident, which involved an adult man and an adult woman. One of the victims suffered minor injuries, authorities said.

Investigators used the Flock camera system to locate the suspect’s vehicle in the area of Strip Avenue in North Canton.

Jackson Township police officers, the Ohio State Highway Patrol and members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force responded to the area.

Authorities said the suspect, Thassanai Suwannasin, 26, was located in the 6400 block of Strip Avenue NW in North Canton and was taken into custody without incident.

He was arrested on a charge of felonious assault. Officials also recovered two firearms from his vehicle.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the shooting. Officials said no additional information will be released at this time because of the ongoing investigation.
