A Massillon man has been placed on probation after admitting guilt in a case involving a fatal crash that claimed the life of a pedestrian.
Miguel Flowers, 55, was sentenced Monday and will not serve prison time unless he violates the conditions of his probation. If that occurs, he could face a one-year prison term.
Authorities said Flowers was delivering food on 34th Street, just east of Harmont Avenue, on a dark December evening when his vehicle struck 52-year-old Eugene Rogers of Canton, who was walking near the roadway.
Rogers was pronounced dead as a result of the incident.
Investigators determined Flowers left the scene after the collision, resulting in a felony conviction for failing to stop following an accident.
