ProVia plans to create approximately 400 new jobs in Dover as part of a major expansion of its vinyl window and patio door business, one of two new manufacturing projects announced by the company.
ProVia has reached an agreement to purchase a 310,000-square-foot manufacturing facility currently under construction on a 97-acre property in Dover from Schaeffler, a global motion technology company.
The Dover project represents a $110 million investment and is expected to generate about $27 million in new annual payroll. The 400 jobs are expected to be added over multiple phases of the project.
Construction on the Dover facility began in 2024. ProVia plans to acquire the existing building and complete construction to its specifications, with completion expected in 2027.
The company’s more than 2,000 existing jobs throughout the region are not expected to be affected.
The Dover expansion is part of a broader growth plan that also includes a new 580,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Davie County, North Carolina. That project is also expected to create approximately 400 jobs.
Together, the two facilities are expected to add about 800 jobs and significantly expand ProVia’s manufacturing capacity for vinyl windows and patio doors.
ProVia said the added capacity will help the company meet growing demand, increase production, maintain lead times and streamline shipping and distribution. Once both projects are completed, ProVia expects to own and operate 10 production facilities in Ohio, Mississippi and North Carolina.
“These expansions will enable us to continue delivering quality products to our growing marketplace with a high level of service and excellent lead times,” ProVia President and CEO Brian Miller said.
Miller said the investments reflect the company’s continued growth and its commitment to maintaining product quality and customer service.
In North Carolina, ProVia has agreed to purchase a 79-acre, build-ready site in Mocksville. Construction on the 580,000-square-foot facility is expected to begin immediately, with completion planned for 2028.
ProVia said both Dover and Davie County were selected in part because of the strength and quality of their local workforces.
Dover Mayor Shane Gunnoe called ProVia’s investment a transformational economic development project for the community.
“The purchase of this site by ProVia represents a significant commitment to Dover and is a transformational economic development project for our community,” Gunnoe said. “ProVia is well respected throughout the region. We look forward to ProVia calling Dover home for many years to come.”
The Dover project is being supported by the Ohio Department of Development, JobsOhio, Team NEO, the city of Dover and the Tuscarawas County Economic Development Corporation, along with other local and regional partners.
Local officials said the project is expected to generate economic benefits beyond the 400 jobs directly created by ProVia through increased local spending and additional business activity throughout Tuscarawas County.
ProVia manufactures entry doors, storm doors, patio doors, windows, vinyl siding, manufactured stone and metal roofing.
