Plane slides off runway at Kent State University Airport; pilot uninjured

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a plane crash that occurred Wednesday afternoon at the Kent State University Airport in Summit County.

According to the highway patrol, the incident happened at approximately 3:51 p.m. and involved a 2014 Cessna 172S that traveled off the runway and into a ditch.

Authorities said the aircraft sustained minor damage. The pilot, identified as 24-year-old Kwanwoo Kim, was not injured in the incident.

The Federal Aviation Administration was notified of the crash and will conduct a separate investigation into the incident.
