A 64-year-old Navarre man has died from injuries suffered in a motorcycle crash Sunday evening in Stark County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The Canton Post of the Highway Patrol said the crash occurred around 7:05 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, on Fohl Road in Bethlehem Township.

Investigators said James Savage was driving a 2007 Harley-Davidson Road King west on Fohl Street, west of Kemary Avenue SW, when the motorcycle traveled off the right side of the road.

The motorcycle struck a guy wire and a culvert before coming to rest, according to the patrol.

Savage was taken from the scene by Erie Valley Fire and Rescue to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries. He died from his injuries Monday morning.

Authorities said it remains unknown whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.

Erie Valley Fire and Rescue and Canton Towing assisted at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
