A Massillon man is facing multiple charges after a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in Canton last month died from his injuries.

Miguel L.L. Flowers, 55, has been charged with vehicular homicide, a first-degree misdemeanor. He also faces charges of vehicular manslaughter, a second-degree misdemeanor; leaving the scene of an accident, a third-degree felony; and failure to maintain control of a vehicle, a minor misdemeanor.

The charges stem from a crash on the evening of Nov. 28 in the 3500 block of 34th Street NE. Police allege Flowers was driving westbound in a 2007 Toyota Prius when he struck Eugene P. Rogers, 52, of Canton, who was walking along the north side of the roadway.

Rogers was transported for medical treatment following the crash but died Dec. 8 as a result of his injuries, according to authorities.

The case remains pending in court.
