A 26-year-old man was killed Tuesday evening in a motorcycle crash involving an SUV in the City of Green, according to the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded around 7:10 p.m. April 7 to South Arlington Road, where investigators say a 2021 Ford Explorer traveling northbound attempted to turn left into an apartment complex. A 2007 Yamaha motorcycle heading southbound struck the passenger side of the SUV as it was making the turn.

Authorities said the motorcyclist was ejected from the bike. He was transported by the Green Fire Department to Summa Akron City Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The rider, identified as a 26-year-old Green resident, was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, officials said.

The driver of the Ford Explorer did not suffer serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Summit Metro Crash Response Team.
