A Bowerston woman has died from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash last month in Tuscarawas County.
According to the New Philadelphia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 1:38 p.m. Aug. 10 at the intersection of County Road 64 and Township Road 286.
Troopers said a 1994 Ford Taurus driven by Dawn Coleman, 64, of Bowerston, was stopped on TR 286 when she attempted to turn left onto CR 64. As she entered the intersection, her car was struck by a 2012 Nissan Rogue driven by Livia Garabrandt, 18, of Dennison.
Investigators determined Coleman failed to yield at a stop sign and was at fault.
Coleman was transported by Smith EMS to Aultman Hospital, where she remained until she died of her injuries Sept. 4, the Stark County Coroner’s Office reported. Troopers said she was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
Garabrandt suffered minor injuries but was not transported to a hospital. She had been wearing her seat belt.
The Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Dennison Fire Department and Smith EMS.
